How to Set Up and Create Your SSL Secure Private Email Account
STEP 1 – CPANEL LOGIN:
Login to cpanel using your user name and password for the domain. You will be given this info included in the Welcome Email from Invividhost. Scroll down to email section and click on “Email Accounts”.
Under the “Default Email Account” tab you’ll see the default account with your user name listed. This email account is the “catch all” for all unrouted email to your domain. You will want to make a forwarder for this default account’s email to forward into the new account you are about to create. We’ll get to that in a moment.
STEP 2 – ADD EMAIL ACCOUNT:
Click on “Add Email Account” tab. Enter the name and password you want to use. You can keep it simple by using the same password info to login to your cPanel or choose a different password. Click “Create Account” to add new account. It is this account you will login to administer emails.
Next, go back to Email section in your cPanel to create a forwarder for the default domain email to go into the new email account you just created. In the Email section click “Forwarders” to add a forwarder.
STEP 3 – CREATE FORWARDERS:
In the “Address to Forward” field enter the default email user name (the user name used to login to cPanel). Under “Destination” enter the full new email address you just created into the “Forward to Email Address”. Click “Add Forwarder.”
Go back to “Email” Section in cPanel and click “Email Accounts.” Under the tab “Email Accounts” the new default address created and the link to login. Click that. Once inside you will see your first email with instructions on how to set up and receive emails on your cell phone.
STEP 4 – CREATE NEW ALIAS IDENTITIES:
Inside your new email box click on “Options” then click “Personal Information” to create aliases. In the first box you’ll see the new email box you created showing the name and email address. Here you can put in signature info such as website url and email address. Add a phone number if you like. The email box is so secure that it would not allow a screen shot to be taken to show you! Somebody call the cops! Anyways, an example of what you’ll see is
YourDomain.com
Name@yourdomain.com
555-555-5555
Click “Submit” to save the signature and it will appear in your composed emails sent from that identity. You can set different signatures for each identity you’ve created. Click on “options” > “personal information” again if needed to access this information.
Click “Edit Advanced Identities” to create the different aliases you want to use. In the box “Add New Identity” create the identity then click “Save/Update” and new identity is created with your signature already in there.
Next, create a forwarder for email coming to this new identity that will forward to the default address (the new default email address created in Step 2. Do this for all identities you create. VOILA!
You now have set up an SSL secure private domain name email box. Click on the “Options” tab > “Display Preferences” to configure to your tastes with colors, highlighting and other tasks. Make it your own!
